  • ATTENTION ALL PARENTS effective 2016-2017 school year…

Welcome to the new school year! We hope you had a wonderful summer!

Below are some updates to our Food Services program.

In accordance with the Rules and Regulations set forth by NYSED and Child Nutrition we have a “no charge” policy.** 7CFR 245.5 Policy reference New York STATE Child Nutrition Program local policies. We are no longer offering charges for a la carte items such as extra entrees, bottled beverages, snacks etc.  Please make sure that your child has a positive balance to start off the new school year.

We understand that “life happens”, and sometimes we forget to send payment , etc., so Your child at that point, may be able to charge breakfast or lunches only, and still get the Offer vs serve option. After 3 meal charges or the student has reached a negative balance of $5.40 they will be served a homemade PB&J or cheese sandwich reimbursable meal until the account is caught up. PCS cafeteria reserves the right to charge the student for those meals as well, therefore the bill will continue to accrue. We will not allow any students to go hungry, so we will exhaust every effort to help any family in need, confidentially and respectfully. We have myschoolbucks.com available for you, with a shortcut on our website as well, to access your child’s account history and to regulate balances.

Milk breaks for K and 1st graders can also be paid in advance using myschoolbucks.com or by cash or check to any POS system.

We accept cash at all POS(Point of Sales) systems, ex: the Pause, Elementary Cafeteria serving line, and HS 7-12 serving lines at no additional charge. Parents of elementary students may send money (cash or check) in with their child, however it is strongly discouraged due to kids being kids, loss etc.

Parents of K and 1st graders- don’t forget that milk breaks are $.30 daily and will be added to your child’s meal accounts, for questions, please contact Libby Stanton , Elementary School Secretary , or myself. Also, please take note that student breakfast and lunches have gone up $.05.

If your child has a negative balance at this time, and you cannot afford to make retribution, please contact me to assist you in making payment arrangements with the Business Office.

Free and Reduced meal applications are available online and at all POS systems and in both main offices. All information is kept confidential. If you are unsure of eligibility or need assistance filling out the forms, please contact me.

Have a fabulous 2016/2017 school year.

    All my very best,

    Laura Watson/Cafeteria Manager
