Making the Most of Middle School!
Here are some helpful tips to making the most of middle school! Number 1 thing to remember is that we are all here to help you! Don't make things more difficult than they need to be! If you need help ask your teacher or come down to the Counseling Department where Ms. Luther would be more than happy to help you with anything you need.
8 simple Rules and middle school will be en enjoyable time for everyone:
1. Remember to carry your agenda wherever you go!
2. Do what you are supposed to be doing
4. Ask for help often
5. Come to school everyday on time.
6. Don't tease, bully, threaten, pick on, gossip, laugh at, harass, insult, leave out, other students.
7. Do your homework
8. Remember that you are here to learn and learning is important, but don't forget to have fun!
If you feel like you are being bullied or harassed in any way please let someone know! You can tell a teacher, the counselor, trooper Tim, a parent/guardian or any adult. Even if it has stopped let someone know it has happened in case it happens again to you or someone else!
Here is some information to read on what bullying/harassment is and how it can be stoppedYou can also report Bullying through the DASA reporting site. You can find this link on the Portville School Website.
"The more I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on my life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think, or say or do. It is more important than appearances, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company...a church...a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past....we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We can not change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the string we have, and that is our attitude....I am convinced that life is ten percent what happens to me and ninety percent how I react to it. And so it is with you...we are in charge of our attitudes."
